Aysgarth Falls.

Taken on a trip with about 16 friends on a cool November morning, we set off on an easy walk from the car park at Aysgarth Falls Visitor Centre, and it took about 3hrs, basic map reading skills are all you need. Three Quarters of the way around the walk a group members boot sole came away, and she flapped her way back to the car park. We spent the night in Hawes town further west, for a most excellent night out.

The falls lie on the eastern side of the village of Aysgarth and were featured in the film "Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves". The River Ure cascades down broad limestone steps in three plateau's, High Force, Middle Force and Lower Force, this is of Lower Force and in full flow shows plenty of power.

The picture on the home page is of yours truly taking a photograph of this shot (Thanks Don), with a shutter speed of about 2 seconds and hand held, steady as a rock, although after the night out in Hawes I couldn't of done it.
